Lake has conducted various product testing studies for Firmenich. Products include Surf and Bold liquid detergent sniff test to determine opinions towards a new fragrance, products were dispatched to respondents home to test. Lake then conducted follow up calls over the telephone. A total of 720 products were dispatched with 600 follow up calls conducted. We also conducted a hall test on Citrus Air Freshener whereby respondents were recruited in street to take part in a sniff test of a new air freshener and answer a follow up questionnaire on site. Each respondent was required to smell five products sequentially. Products were activated in the appropriate rooms at least one hour prior to the first evaluation. Quotas were set to ensure we spoke to respondents who were 100% users of electrical air fresheners. The questionnaire assessed likeability, suitability, fragrance strength plus a number of specific attributes.
